Our
two legged members aren't the only ones who deserve recognition. We are quite proud of one of our K-9 members. Mittru (handler Chris Buff). Mittru worked 911 and put closure to several families. Mittru has his own page in a book that was published for all our brave friends, Dog Heroes of September 11th.

MITTRU
Mittru is an almost 10 y/o
(9/09) male GSD, from Chestnut Ridge Kennels. He has
participated in many searches, becoming advanced operational in early
summer of 2001. Mittru's searches include drownings on Lake
Ontario, the Long Island Sound and our local lakes, 9-11-01
Fresh Kills Landfill recovery, and a house explosion in Oswego County.
Mittru remains actively working in both rescue and recovery.
