2006
marked the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Cayuga
Museum of History and Art. The Museum continues to live up to its
legacy -- keeping the past alive and bringing the arts to our
community. In 2007, we created six original exhibits celebrating the
history and culture of Cayuga County. We hosted presentations by noted
academics and local historians, including lectures, slide shows and
musical performances -- all free to the public. Our emphasis on
family-friendly programming and non-traditional exhibit content have
brought in many first-time visitors and greatly increased our visitation
numbers.
All
of us who are a part of the Cayuga Museum can take pride in the good
work the Museum is doing. And we want to continue building on our
successes. The Theodore Case Film Festival, honoring the Auburn native
who invented talking movies, is becoming larger and more prestigious
every year. We intend to develop this event into one of the
cornerstones of arts programming in central New York.
We
are accomplishing great things at the Cayuga Museum, yet it is a
constant struggle to make ends meet. The Museum’s operating budget
needs your help. Museum staff continues to seek out every possible
source of funding. We have secured grants from Cayuga County, New York
State, and private foundations. The Board of Trustees’ fundraising
efforts this year have garnered more than $17,000. Yet the Museum’s
operating budget is still facing a shortfall.
Your donation at this time will help meet this deficit.
Just follow the link below for a printable form, fill it out and mail it
to the Museum with your check or faxed if paying with your Visa / MC.
Donations made with your Visa / MC can also be phoned into the Museum. Your generosity will not go
unappreciated regardless of size.
