![]() Two privately-owned launches along Cross Lake allow access to this water body by the public for small fees. Cross Lake Park & Campgrounds and Cross Lake Marina both offer lake access and parking for non-motorized and motorized watercraft recreationists. Cross Lake, located on the Cayuga-Onondaga County border, is surrounded by wetlands and smooth elongated drumlins - streamlined hills created by the deposition of till by the Wisconsin Glacier as it advanced across the North American continent over 10,000 years ago. At its southern end, the Seneca River flows east-west through Cross Lake, mixing river and lake waters together. Two islands, Big Island (46 acres) and Little Island (7 acres) are located at this southern end. Cross Lake has an 11.4-mile shoreline, 3.1-square mile surface area, and an average depth of 18 feet. Fishing, boating, and swimming are popular recreational activities along the Lake. |
